The natives are singing their happy anniversary song and bringing a cake to a couple that is celebrating their 20th anniversary that day.  This is also "Kava Night".  Kava is their traditional drink.  The root of a pepper plant is ground into dust and then used to make a muddy looking drink that tastes like dishwater and has a numbing effect when consumed.
